His coaching career continued to rise. For nine seasons, he was in charge of the C.B. Girona. During his management, the team reached three final phases of the league. His exceptional work earned him the nomination as the best Catalan coach by the Catalan Basketball Federation in 2003. In 2005, he joined the C.B. Girona ACB as assistant to Edu Torres. Over two seasons, he guided Akasvayu Girona to the Copa del Rey and the playoffs, although they were eliminated in the quarterfinals in both competitions. In 2007, in collaboration with Gerard Darnes, Toni Espinosa, and Darryl Middleton, he founded Sports4you, a sports campus company that included the participation of renowned players such as Marc Gasol, Rudy Fernandez, Ricky Rubio, Pau Ribas, Jordi Trias, among others. That same year, the Generalitat de Catalunya awarded him the Best Sportsman award. He continued his work in basketball and in 2013 he became coach of the Catalan team C.B. Onyar in the Catalonia Cup. Two years later, he took over the management of the C.B. Arbúcies of the first Catalan category, and in 2018 he reached an agreement with C.B. Salt of the EBA league to replace Oriol Verdes. In addition to his work as a coach, Martínez Gifre has shown a deep passion for engineering and robotics. In 2020 he founded the company Robot by Human, which was awarded the national robotics technology award for El Suplemento. Currently, he is the Area Manager at the German company Gollmann Zwick, where he leads robotics projects for pharmacies.
